Mass. C.A.R.E.S. is an employer initiative created by the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation (MTF) in response to its recent report demonstrating the significant economic impact the opioid epidemic is having on the Commonwealth.
The purpose of Mass. C.A.R.E.S. is to make employers more aware of the signs and consequences in the workplace of opioid use disorder (OUD), the challenges faced by those affected and opportunities for addressing the issue at the workplace.
The mission of Mass. C.A.R.E.S. is to reduce the prevalence of OUD in Massachusetts by having employers play a more prominent role in the solution. By providing employers with information, tools and support, Mass. C.A.R.E.S. is equipping employers to engage as part of a collective effort, to achieve that end so that their employees can lead healthier and more productive lives.
